Hayek: A Commemorative Album (£12)

This book illustrates the life and work of Freidrich Hayek, Nobel Laureate in Economics and the twentieth century's leading thinker on liberalism. In the book, John Raybold brings together for the first time a unique collection of photographs and documents from the Hayek family archives, many of them never before published. Here are the family's own snapshots of Hayek as a schoolchild, at the University of Vienna and in his battledress during the First World War: here too are the rare photographs of him teaching at the London School of Economics in the 1930s, his hand-written text of the Road to Serfdom, his scribbled notes from the inaugural meeting of the Mont Pelerin Society in 1947: and here are some of the many tributes from around the world that crowned the career of a remarkable man.

Hayek: A Tribute (£10)

The Adam Smith Institute presents a 24 minute film tracing the life of the scholar Freidrich A Hayek. The story of his life is told from his birth in Vienna, Austria to his later years in Freiburg, Germany. Throughout, the context of historic events is illustrated against the progression of his written works. The video contains some unique photographs taken by his family and also at the original Mount Pelerin Society meeting.

The film was made possible through the assistance of The Fraser Institute and Atlas Economic Research Foundation (UK).

Available on DVD or VHS.
