To adequately defend genetically modified food crops

you must counter the arguments against it, not just state the positives it could offer if all goes well. We do no know nearly enough about the details of genetics yet to be sure that all will go well. In fact, if it is like all other scientific endeavors, it is very likely indeed that all will not go according to plan. What is to be done when that happens?

I ask all this as a former research biochemist myself. - DJC

Vitamins

It is possibly vitamin A or other beta-carotenes which is also put into margarines to give it a more "natural" colour (trans-fat is purely white). Merriam-Webster says carotene comes from carota (lat. for carrot), that explains "golden".

[Ed - Thanks for pointing that out, Boyang. I have changed it.] - Boyang Xia
