Families sending money abroad is more direct and more impactful than big-ticket public aid. It’s time to talk up philanthropy, and recognise the power of individuals to change the stars of their friends and relatives overseas.

After Davos took aim at the rich, and demanded more tax and public spending, we thought it time to talk up philanthropy. Private foreign aid, given by individuals to family members overseas has more impact and less corruption than big ticket public aid.
