Public control is an excellent idea, yes Prime Minister

Hope is not just the thing with feathers and yes indeed we should have more of it. We also think that lowering the cost of living is an excellent goal for a political, even socioeconomic, system.

So how do we go about this? Well, the public is us, us out here. The 75 million of us, both individually and in aggregate. Which means that it needs to be us public, us 75 million out here, that controls things in order to engender hope and reduce the cost of living.

That’s good, we know how to do that. More markets, freer markets, to wrest control in our favour from the current system which concentrates economic and social power as in our current society. Whether it’s the capitalists or the Lanyards who currently have too much power the answer is the same. Devolve power down to us the citizenry and let rip. We’d even reverse the prejudices of a lifetime and suggest the setting up of a new quango, the “Nothing To Do With Government Commission*” which would continually expand the areas of life over which the forced collective should have no power, leaving all instead to the voluntary collectives of the Little Platoons.

But while we await that brave new dawn in which it will be bliss to be alive etc let us just celebrate the arrival - finally! - of a Prime Minister who gets it. The solution is minarchy, as it always has been.

That is what he means, isn’t it. We mean, obviously that’s what he means, right?
