This month, we are delighted to welcome Lord Kempsell, highly accomplished political strategist and opposition researcher. Ross is
one of Britain’s most distinguished political campaign directors and communication experts, having served as a senior advisor to Boris Johnson in the Downing Street Policy Unit, Director of the Conservative Research Department, Political Director for Conservative Campaign Headquarters and as the publisher of Guido Fawkes.
Appointed in 2022 as one of the youngest members of the House of Lords, Ross draws on his deep political experience to defend and
explain right-of-centre positions and is an advocate for a low tax, free market business environment. He is a frequent media contributor to outlets including the BBC, GB News, Talk TV, and The Daily Telegraph.
Ross specialises in political strategy, public relations, and foreign affairs. He brings a sharp, highly strategic, and experienced
perspective to contemporary geopolitics, defence, and Britain’s changing place in the world.
Lord Kempsell will be discussing Chagos Unchanged. He’ll explore the history, future, and strategic purpose of the Chagos Islands while unpacking the debate surrounding recent negotiations with Mauritius. His talk will also examine the new Prime Minister's potential course of action for this inherited strategic issue.
Lord Kempsell will make the case that the Chagos Islands should remain sovereign territory of the United Kingdom, explaining the errors of paying Mauritius to take control of them.
It’s an unmissable evening for anyone interested in international law and Britain’s position on the global stage.

Open to parliamentary staffers, journos, SpAds, consultants, students, and even the odd civil servant, TNGs are a place to network, chat, and relax. Whatever your politics, we just like interesting ideas and we hope you do too. It’s for under-35s, it’s informal, and we normally end up at the Marquis of Granby.
