The Art of Influence: Lessons from America’s New Media Revolution

  • Adam Smith Institute 23 Great Smith Street London SW1P 3DJ United Kingdom (map)

The way ideas spread is changing. Traditional media outlets and political institutions no longer hold the same influence they once did. Today, creators, podcasters, independent journalists, and online communities play an increasingly important role in shaping public debate and cultural change.

Join Casey Given, CEO of Young Voices, for a discussion on how influence works in today’s media environment and what Britain’s advocates of free markets, free speech, and open inquiry can learn from America’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

Drawing on his experience leading Young Voices, a nonprofit talent agency that develops and promotes emerging advocates for freedom, Casey will explore how the next generation of communicators are building audiences, shaping conversations, and bringing ideas to new audiences. He will also examine the challenges and opportunities facing anyone seeking to make an impact in an increasingly fragmented and competitive marketplace of ideas.
