Rory Sutherland, Senior Fellow
Rory Sutherland is the Vice Chairman of Ogilvy, and an internationally renowned expert in marketing. He is the author of three books: The Wiki Man, the best-selling Alchemy - The surprising Power of Ideas which don't make Sense, published in the UK and US in May 2019, and, co-written with his former colleague Pete Dyson, the newly released Transport For Humans on the behavioural science of transport.
Before founding Ogilvy Change, Rory spent over 20 years as an Ogilvy copywriter and creative director after joining as a trainee in 1988. He has served as President of the IPA, Chair of the Judges for the Direct Jury at Cannes, and spoken at TED Global. A regular columnist for the Spectator, Market Leader, and Impact, he has authored The Wiki Man.
Rory is married to a vicar, has twin daughters, and lives in the attic of the former home of Napoleon III. He is a trustee of the Benjamin Franklin House in London and a Patron of Rochester Cathedral.
Rory has spoken at a number of Adam Smith Institute events, and remains close to the Institute’s ethos of thinking differently and boldly.
